San Eli Mayor Worker Pay Issue Follow-Up

I have had a lot of people ask if the workers in San Elizario got paid following a post I wrote earlier this week explaining that workers allege that San Elizario Mayor Isela Reyes didn't pay them. 

Today was supposed to be another pay day. 

Well, according to the workers, they still haven't gotten paid. Nor have they had any contract with Isela Reyes. 

I know what you're thinking, after the information coming out that she hadn't paid her workers, you'd think she'd make it a priority if for no other reason, than to save face. I'm not even talking about how its very obviously the right thing to do. 

Also, you'd think she'd do it because there is allegedly an active investigation into the alleged wage theft happening. You'd think that, but apparently you'd be wrong. 

Why isn't there an urgency to pay the workers? Who does that?

I'm honestly surprised that there hasn't been some sort of protest at her business yet demanding that the workers get paid. 

Incredibly, Pistoleros is open for business tonight and will likely be open all weekend long. I'm confused how she's even getting her hands on liquor considering TABC has her on the delinquent list as I previously mentioned. I mean she's gotta be getting the booze she's selling from somewhere, right? 

I'm no legal expert but I'm fairly certain her acquisition of alcohol at this point might be of interest to the TABC. 

At least one event that was going to be held at her business has been canceled recently. That is not surprising considering the optics of having an event at a business that is allegedly not paying their employees is problematic for any organization. 

It would't surprise me if her business takes a hit from people knowing that the workers are allegedly not being paid.
