Election Integrity and the El Paso GOP
We all get a good laugh at the people who still refuse to believe that Donald Trump lost and that he lost to someone who received more votes that any other president in US history. And the GOP candidates for races across the country trip over themselves to each proclaim a more extreme and radical position on "election integrity".
The truth is almost every case of election fraud around the country has been a Republican and a Trump supporter.
But I don't know a single Republican that ever let a little thing like facts get in their way. They all have an election Chupa-votes (Choo-puh Vo-tays as y'all would pronounce it) living in their head that they think is lurking around every early voting location with people darker than a slice of wonder bread voting there.
Enter Irene "La Mentirosa" Armendariz.
Ms. Jackson if you're nasty. The El Paso GOP's Sacrificial Lamb in November for congress.
Okay, okay, I know, I know. I can hear y'all rage-reading this post wondering why I'm wasting your time reading a blog post about a loser candidate without a chance in hell of winning.
I get it. Trust me I do.
She's not remotely viable and for the most part - not really worthy of a blog post.
But I love pointing out hypocrisy with candidates and electeds.
Wait til you read about the Precinct 4 Republican candidates...but that is for another day.
So get a load of this - while Republicans run around with their hair on fire about "election fraud" - turns out Irene Jackson took to social media to announce that on Tuesday she will be an election judge. Yes, you read that correctly. The person who will be on the ballot in November, will be serving as an election judge on Tuesday's Election Day for the run-off election.
Yep - you read that correctly. She will be an election judge on Tuesday - and on the ballot in the same election cycle.
Now, I know what else you're thinking - is that even legal?
Turns out - it is. I know, what in the Shane Haggerty is going on here, right?
Just because its permissible doesn't mean you should do it.
But what is worse about this is the fact that she makes the announcement - literally moments after endorsing a candidate in the run-off election, soliciting people to ask her for her recommendations, and imploring people to go meet her while she's being an Election Judge!
Holy St. Hypocrisy Batman!
Hold on a second though. Lets let this whole thing marinate a little bit. Lets flip the script here for a minute. What if - what if - it were Congresswoman Escobar who decided to be an election judge over in Manhattan Heights at Memorial Park?
Can you IMAGINE the reaction from the GOP if she did so? Can you imagine the reaction from local media? Everyone would be having a conniption over it.
And rightfully so.
Just because you CAN do it - doesn't mean you should. So much for "election integrity".
And this little stunt is yet another - out of many - reasons why La Mentirosa Jackson shouldn't be trusted.
