Art V. Claudia - Part 2

Former State Rep Art Fierro isn't ready to retire and apparently is a glutton for punishment. 

According to a what was said at a Democratic Party event last night, Fierro is going to challenge City Rep Claudia Rodriguez who currently represents District 6 at city council. He must like losing to opponents named Claudia. 

Rodriguez is objectively the most worthless member of council. She is also a crazy Trump cultist. She is completely unresponsive to her constituents. Her office is incapable of completing even the most basic tasks. Like embarrassingly incapable. Do you have any idea how long it took for me to get even the most BASIC functions done from her office?

She was so bad as a city rep, she made Eddie Holguin look adequate. 

Seriously, thats not an exaggeration. It was THAT bad. 

Because of the new city rep lines, the only part of the lower valley that is left in Rodriguez's district is the gated community off North Loop. 

No, not the gated community Eddie and Iliana Holguin live in - the other one south of the freeway. 

Anywho - a reliable source tells me Fierro is going to take on Rodriguez for her council seat. Now this is some really interesting political shit for so many reasons. 

As I mentioned - Rodriguez is a Trump-nut and she was 100% supported by Max Grossman. Grossman is Lily Limón's BFF and a big Trump supporter. 

Fierro needs funding to be competitive against Rodriguez. Not because she's particularly popular - but because some dumbasses thought it was a good idea to put municipal elections in November which protects incumbents. He's facing someone who only won her seat because they thought they were voting for someone else and now its on a general election cycle so the name thing is going to be even MORE helpful to her. 

And she knows it - that is why she focused so heavily on her first name when she ran. 

So Fierro needs money. The ONLY people that would be interested in funding him would be someone like...Papa Woody.

Woody Hunt. 

Hunt supports an arena. Word around downtown is that Hunt can NOT stand Eddie Holguin and Lily Limón. He would never give Art Fierro a single red penny if he knew those two were running his campaign. 

Woody is a Republican. And there's no way he'd fund the Trump-nut Claudia Rodriguez because, well for many reasons other than her being a complete joke of a candidate. 

So lets put funding aside for a minute. How does Fierro beat Rodriguez in a November election? Well, he'd have to make it a partisan fight. He'd have to tell the truth about Rodriguez and the fact that she's a Trump cultist. 

One problem with making it a partisan fight - Art Fierro can't call her a pinche Republican after he took a chingo of feria from Republicans in his last race. 

Especially after he sold out to the Republicans in the first place.

And while I'm talking about this - lets not forget the SCOTUS leak. Its going to be a big deal in November. How does he sell himself as an anti-Republican pro-choice advocate after taking all that Republican money? 

And if you're Rodriguez - how much is it pissing you off to know that wealthy Republicans in El Paso won't support you financially and would rather support a "Democrat"? 

This is gonna be a fun election season.
