Fenenbock & Her PAC

Come on, it was always a punch line. 

A PAC that has the word "honest" run by Carlos Sierra is a joke that writes itself. 

For those of y'all that don't remember Carlos Sierra is the political operative most often associated with El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser and former City Rep Lily Limón - who is now a political consultant for Sun Circle, that found himself at the center of controversy pretty regularly. 

Sierra is a Republican - which apparently doesn't bother Limón or her business partner Eddie Holguin because they have always been real chummy with Republicans. Limón and Max Grossman, Holguin and the late Jaime O. Perez. 

Sierra had a string of legal troubles stemming mostly from a drinking problem. The vato had more DUI's than an infantry unit on a 4 day pass. It eventually led to him getting his ass beat at a Journey concert at the Haskins Center. 

I know what you're thinking - who the hell tries to get gangsta at a Journey concert? 

That guy does. 

But more importantly, who tries to get gangsta at a Journey concert - and then gets his ass beat by a guy who was probably wearing a sweater vest probably named Skyler who probably graduated from fucking Franklin?

Same guy. 

Anywho - he ran the Keep El Paso Honest PAC during Escobar's first run for congress. The sole purpose of that PAC was to attack Escobar. 

And they did. 

A lot. 

There was nothing "honest" about it. But that kinda isn't the point. They are allowed to exist for whatever purpose they want to - even if it is for the sole purpose of attacking someone. 

Thats their constitutional right. 

But - they have to comply with election laws. 

And Keep El Paso Honest, wasn't honest. They didn't comply with reporting laws. 

El Paso Matters ran a story yesterday that unmasked all the secrecy behind the PAC and in what will be a shocker to no one - it turns out Escobar's main opponent in that race - Dori Fenenbock - had a bunch of family members that were essentially the sole funders of the PAC. 

Now if you believe that Dori Fenebock wasn't aware that her family was contributing to the PAC - after the very same family members maxed out their contributions to Fenenbock's actual campaign - then there's a border crossing in Horizon I'd like to sell you. 

It literally took the PAC YEARS to comply with the law. Mind you, there was nothing preventing Fenenbock from disclosing that information herself. I mean, do you really think she didn't know?

Fenenbock and former EPISD Superintendent Juan Cabrera were eventually accused of fraud a couple of years ago that eventually led to Cabrera's ouster from EPISD.

Fenenbock eventually pretty much disavowed the Democratic Party and even contacted the El Paso County Democratic Party via email asking to be removed from all Democratic Party lists. 

Turns out she also recently donated to Art Fierro's campaign. 

Art Fierro used Sun Circle on his last campaign - the consultants closely associated with Carlos Sierra. They didn't show up on his last campaign finance report but will likely show up on his next report or the 8-day. 

There is no indication if Fierro is going to keep the contribution from Fenenbock or return it. 

The guy that whooped Carlos Sierra's ass at the Journey concert was unavailable for comment.
