Rumor Officially Killed

Remember all the people saying that Lina Ortega wasn't going to run for reelection? As you know, I pointed out a while back that Ortega announced her reelection bid back in September, but for some reason they just wouldn't let the rumor go. 

They were giddy about it too. 

They even spun a while back story about Steve Ortega running for the seat instead. 

As you may recall, all the Democratic members of the legislature left Texas for a period to prevent the Republicans from passing an extremist agenda. 

Three of El Paso's Delegation were among the first group of legislators to return - giving the Republicans the numbers they needed to pass their extremist agenda including State Reps Mary Gonzalez, Joe Moody, and Art Fierro. 

The two Democrats that did not return, both women, were both punished by the GOP by being drawn into the same district. 

Well, State Representative Lina Ortega filed for reelection today. 

Rumor officially killed.
