Westside Anti-Maskers = Trump Supporters

I know, I always gotta be the guy that says stuff others are thinking but won't say themselves because of the probability of criticism. But ni modo, thats the reason you come here in the first place.

So here we go...

Yet again the wealthy white Westside Karens have organized to raise hell in our local school system. If you recall they are the ones that came up with that ridiculous "Let the School Bells Ring" group, which is supposed to be a play on the phrase "Let Freedom Ring".

And they are mostly Trump supporters. I'll get to that in a minute.

Now, the group of people who apparently don't love their children enough to have them take a small step to help keep them protected and are therefore opposed to their children wearing masks, came up with a new motto - "Let Our Children Breath".

I guess they are mocking "I Can't Breath", which arose following the death of George Floyd. But only those idiots would have a motto like that when they are opposed to measures meant to protect their children from a deadly virus that attacks the respiratory system.

Now look, normally I wouldn't be at all concerned about people that are Trump supporters and conspiracy theorists that don't want to take vaccine. I figure social Darwinism will kick-in and they'll go the way of the Do-Do bird and then I don't have to worry about them voting anymore and screwing up America.

Normally.

But what bothers me about these people is that their stupidity jeopardizes OTHER people.

Here's some things you need to know about this group of people.

1. They are mostly Trump supporters. Some of them participated in Treason Day and among their flock are people that have a pretty violent past. There is a self-proclaimed Oath Keeper - you remember those assholes - the ones that invaded the capitol waving Confederate flags, several participants in Treason Day, and someone convicted of violence against women and making terroristic threats. And here's the kicker, they don't want anyone to know they are Trump supporters. Put a pin in this part, we're coming back to it.

2. They are predominantly white and almost all of them are wealthy westsiders.

3. A large number of them don't have their kids in EPISD anymore.

They are going to go to Tuesday's EPISD Board of Trustees meeting to try to intimidate the Board Members from issuing a mask mandate. But the likelihood of a mask mandate as a real option for any elected body at this point is pretty slim. The Governor is going to take action in court and this is pretty much a dead issue.

But that doesn't mean that the anti-maskers/anti-vaxers won't use this as an opportunity for drama. They are going to be there acting like its Treason Day again, signs, probably flags, chanting, Sammy Carrejo screaming and acting like he's a motivational speaker but looking more like a dollar store version of Hitler.

They have been emailing trustees for several days but my guess is they only have one trustee that is on their side. The other trustees know that these are largely westside parents and so the email campaigns to the other trustees just doesn't really influence them. And why would it?

The reality is that these people that are acting like its about protecting their rights are completely full of shit. Its not about their rights, its that they are self-centered and entitled elitists. I mean by their logic, couldn't every teacher in the district say that its their right to go to school completely hammered every day?

What kind of parent wouldn't take every opportunity available to them to protect their children?

Kids under 12 aren't eligible to get the vaccine. What kind of parent would put their defenseless child in a room full of other kids completely unprotected from the virus?

How the hell are these the same people that think they need a gun around their waste 24/7 like this is the damn old west "for protection"?

I mean you nuts want protection for yourselves - but you wanna put your CHILDREN in an unprotected environment? What the hell is wrong with you people?

And don't give me the its your rights argument either. Because your rights end where they put someone else in danger. Come on libertarians, how many times have I heard you all make that same argument?

You don't have a right to put other people's health at risk. You aren't entitled to special privileges and you're disregarding the fact that the community has rights too.

You hypocrites kill me. When I see you at a westside park with little Skylar on his scooter you make him wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and practically wrap him in bubble wrap - but you don't want your kid to wear a mask at school.

How much more selfish can you possibly be? Just kidding, I don't go to parks on the Westside. But you get my point.

What happened to letting local communities make decisions for what is best for them? El Pasoans know what is best for us better than some douche bag in Austin that doesn't even make an annual trip to our town.

I get it Westside Karens, COVID-19 doesn't disproportionately affect wealthy white people like it does people of color, so what do you care?

Well, we do.

Unmasked Trump Insurrectionists

Talk about irony. The group that doesn't want people telling them what to do, is telling their supporters what to do.

As in what not to do - wear any "national political swag", which is code for don't wear MAGA stuff. Thats funny because they are 100% acknowledging that this is about their ideology - not about what is best for kids.

And that says a lot.

But getting that cult to not wear Trump gear after all this time they have spent making it a part of their personal identity is going to be a tall order. But more importantly, they are acknowledging that support for their cause will collapse like an arroyo in a Canutillo flood the minute everyone else realizes that they are all basically a collection of Trump supporters and since he wasn't reinstated by the pillow guy, that energy is now directed into this little escapade.

On small thing they overlooked in their plea to not wear MAGA gear...they have the immediate past state GOP Chairman in their event photo.

D'oh!
