GOP Candidate Pushes Her Campaign on Memorial Day
It is not a holiday to pimp out your campaign.
As we know, Republican Trump supporters attempted to stop a constitutionally mandated function of congress by committing an act of sedition against our country and our constitution.
That makes Irene Jackson's latest effort to use Memorial Day as a campaign event for her candidacy that much more insulting to veterans and this community.
You can see in this link - and this link if you speak Spanish - that she was doing just that. She very briefly mentions the sacrifice of the fallen, but mostly she is using Memorial Day and the Fort Bliss National Cemetery as a prop for push her campaign for congress.
Seriously, she somehow manages to make a day set aside to remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice in places like Normandy, a frozen battle field in Korea, a sweltering jungle in Vietnam, or the scorching deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan about her and her bid for congress.
The photo in this post is a screenshot from one of her videos linked to above. I know it looks like she REALLY needs more fiber in her diet, but she's actually in the middle of bragging about herself in this image.
For those of you that may recall, she and fellow failed Republican candidate Bethany Hatch who ran against Cesar Blanco for State Senate, both claimed that there was massive election fraud and called for a recount. Irene Jackson actually fundraised for the money necessary to do the recount and then never followed through with it.
Kinda like Trump fundraising for all this stuff he was going to do and never did it...
The idea that people like Hatch and Jackson, who flat out supported a racist insurrection (no matter how much they try to minimize January 6 or their individual roles in it), have the audacity to stand in front of the flag and in front of hallowed ground that is the final resting place to members of this community that served our country honorably - heroes like El Paso's own Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Ambrosio Guillen - is a slap in the face to those fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines.
Sorry Republicans but the days of you all wrapping yourselves in the very flag you were so willing to betray and the constitution you stomped on for the benefit of Donald Trump are over.
You aren't patriots.
You're traitors and seditionists. How dare you include yourselves among the countless number of heroes that served their country and were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.
