El Paso GOP vs El Paso GOP

Rather than readying themselves for a fight in the midterms/gubernatorial cycle, the El Paso GOP apparently thinks their time and energy is better spent fighting with one another. Just kidding, no amount of money or organizing could make the El Paso GOP competitive in any partisan race.

But nonetheless, the civil war of personalities has escalated to the point of Seeberger retaining an attorney. Multiple members of the El Paso GOP provided me copies of a Cease and Desist Letter that has recently been filed.

What practical impact does it make? None, its pretty much Seeberger trying to flex his muscles. The letter basically says that he wants Ray Baca and the County Executive Committee of the El Paso Republican Party to stop referring to Ray Baca as the Party Chair and to basically undo anything they have done so for.

He's giving him a few days to do it - or else.

Not exactly clear on what exactly the what else is, but you can pretty much try to sue anyone for anything.

Again, Seeberger resigned his position because he couldn't handle, well - democracy. He was constantly out-voted and he just finally decided he was going to take his ball and go home. So he quit. He pissed on the commitment he made to voters when he asked for their support and just quit.

Then he figured the bedrock playground legal precedent of take-backsies would apply and he could keep his seat.

Obviously the Republican Party of Texas didn't agree and the Chairman of the Texas GOP came to town to oversee an election of new officers.

You gotta love the false bravado of Seeberger though. The idea that he quit because he wasn't getting his way, then tried to un-quit. I mean what is his end-game? Does he think that the duly-elected and duly-appointed members of the CEC are just going to sit idly by and suddenly do everything he says if he somehow goes to court to hold on to his seat?

Does he think the fact that he incorporated the El Paso GOP pretty much in secret is going to just blow over with no consequence within the El Paso GOP?

More importantly does ANYONE believe that there is going to be some sudden and magical spirit of cooperation within the El Paso GOP after all of this?

I mean Seeberger once had people like Angela Surratt (one of the El Paso Republicans that attended Insurrection Day on January 6) and others supporting his candidacy. Now she's with solidly with the Border Blondes (their choice for a name, not mine) - and they are part of the new GOP administration.

This story only ends one way, with the losing side not participating in any of the GOP functions and effectively sidelined. Because after wars like this, you don't just kiss and make up with the other side. Trust me, it took YEARS for the Hillary/Obama war to blow over and there are still a few people that don't speak to one another because of it.

All I know is that the El Paso GOP deserves all of this and I love watching them fight with one another. It is yet another reason why El Paso will continue to get more and more blue.
