BLM & the Trump Insurrection - They Aren't The Same

You know as you watch the footage of the coup attempt of last week there are parts of it that are pretty laughable and pathetic. When it started it looked like a redneck comicon complete with face paint, buffalo heads, Trump capes, and racism.

Lots and lots of racism.

And then things turned ugly - and they turned ugly fast. To the point now that all the people that breeched the capitol building in their stupid little racism costumes and mugging for the cameras are now realizing why their grandparents wore white hoods.

Mixed in the honky Halloween party was several bands of paramilitary groups in tactical gear, equipped with restraints, clearly having the intent to take hostages. News reports indicate that some of the insurgents were looking for Vice President Mike Pence - and lets not ignore the fact that someone set up a rig with a noose.

Not surprisingly - once they see their pendejadas came across on television, Republicans / Trump supporters are now trying to do damage control. They tried downplaying what happened by minimizing the significance of the coup attempt. Then they tried to blame their biggest boogey man - Antifa. You can see what they write or what they say in their Facebook Lives - that had to be Antifa, MAGA would never do that. It was BLM. I saw a bus driven by an alien pull up next to the capitol that had a bunch of thugs disguised as MAGA and they infiltrated the crowd. They are the ones that broke into the capitol carry confederate flags. I saw a tweet about it. The Rothchilds and George Soros paid them

But lets stop one talking point that Team Whataboutism loves to fall back on - the summer protests. So lets start with a basic premise that just about everyone can agree on - violence in the furtherance of a political agenda is a failure but hey, lets be honest with ourselves - its been tradition in our country since a group of white boys dressed as natives and dumped some tea into Boston Harbor.

Anyone who tries to draw a comparison between an attempt by domestic terrorists to prevent the completion of a constitutionally-mandated function of government by force is by definition, a traitor and a domestic terrorist.

The last thing they are - the very fucking last thing in the world that they are - is a patriot!

The protests - or riots if you prefer - over the summer were over systemic injustices that have been going on for generations. Violence in the furtherance of that cause is a failure because it takes away attention from the real issue and gives people a reason to ignore your cause.

So from that perspective, the demonstrations were a complete failure. Instead of talking about police reform, some dumb asses who think bumper-sticker politics is the way to communicate about a complex and important issue like police reform and racism, instead pushed the idea of Defund Police

A hall of fame stupid way of communicating the importance of police reform and redirecting resources to other areas to affect important community change out of pure laziness.

But at the end of the day, people of color were righteously upset about years of systemic inequities in the justice system, health care, education, housing, and a range of other issues.

The MAGA people were mad because their candidate lost and their cult leader told them that if he lost the election, it was rigged. Seriously, their beef can be boiled down to that very basic complaint. They lost and they can't handle it.

Sure they'll wrap their beef up in words like massive voter fraud (there wasn't), boats full of ballots from North Korea (never happened), China owns the voting machine company (they don't), voting machines changing their votes (they didn't), dead people voting (three in Pennsylvania that were kids voting for their dead parents for Trump) and incredibly - the Constitution. I can't make that up - people who went out of their way to stop a constitutionally-mandated function of congress are talking about how they are protecting the Constitution.

How does a collection of white supremacists walking around with nazi and confederate flags have the audacity to call themselves "patriots"?

So there is no equivalency between a multi-racial and multi-ethnic effort to achieve social justice for communities of color, which were largely organic demonstrations - and a collection of middle and upper class white people who are so unused to feeling on the losing side of anything in life that they absolutely lose their shit at the fact that Trump lost.

And the fact that Republicans and MAGA haven't pushed those racist elements out of their party tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about the Grand Ol' Party and the Trumpanzees.

Seriously, racists have always had a nice comfy home in the Republican Party but its no longer something that is whispered in hallways or discussed only in private. Because of Trump, the Republican Party has fully embraced racism and don't appear to be shy about it. They collectively could've rooted them out years ago but just looked the other way and now have the nerve to be mad when we point out that their party is a safe harbor for those nuts.

And you minority Republicans - you're the dumbest of the bunch. You haven't figured out that your brethren Republicans that are racist...they don't see you as any different than they see me, you just think they do.

Endgame?

How does the part of personal responsibility and small government try to pawn off their actions on the mythical boogeyman "Antifa" and hold out hope for a declaration of martial law? Its completely nonsensical and 100% antithetical to what the Republican Party professes to advocate for.

But I have a question for the Republican Party - what was your endgame? I mean this was seriously the best example of the dog catching the car. So you breeched the capitol to stop a constitutionally-mandated function - and then what?

What was your plan? Did you really think you'd somehow be able to just toss out the results of the election? You guys make a big deal about the fact that 74 million Americans feel the election was stolen from them. Okay - but 81 million Americans know it wasn't. Did you just think you could subvert both the constitution and the will of the American people without consequence?

Seriously, we'd all like to know what your plan was.

Have you not heard of the term, consent of the governed? Check the scoreboard - your side lost. For all the shit you guys talk about snowflakes and participation trophies, y'all are doing a lot of sore loser bitching.

Bottom line is this: not a single person that breeched the capitol was a patriot - not one. Because patriots support and defend the constitution, not try to subvert it. Those people are seditionists. History will not make excuses for them.

It was the most poetic cap to the complete and total desmadre that was been the last 4 years under Donald Trump.

Unless he does something worse, I mean there is still time for him to sink even lower. He tried to have a big military-themed season-finale to his reality TV show presidency and the Pentagon said, negative ghostrider

Like it or not, Trump and the hillbilly comicon will be the memory everyone has of the last days of America's biggest mistake.
