Marlene Gonzalez Tried to Censor Me & Lost

I've been sitting on this for a very long time, but its time I let y'all in on a little secret. I'm the longest running political blog in El Paso. There's others, but they aren't based here in El Paso. I've been doing this for a long time and over the years, I've pissed off a lot of people.

Powerful people. 

Judges. City reps. State reps. Commissioners. Members of congress, water board members, school board members and at least one union boss. And don't even get me started on all the Republican snowflakes who I've made cry over the years. 

A lot of people hate me because of the positions I've taken. 

And my philosophy is - fuck'em, they don't scare me. Least of all Marlene Gonzalez, her sister Mayte, or their tag team partners, the Caballero Coven. 

Over the years, a lot of those folks have tried to inflict some level of pain on me. A lot of tried to push me around, trash me, scare me, intimidate me, etc. 

Anyone who knows me knows that threatening me just makes me that more determined and fight harder. 

I just don't scare easily. 

Many of you will recall that Marlene Gonzalez tried to drag me into some of her bullshit. She wanted to depose me and try to push me around because she didn't like what I wrote about her. I guess she thought that she was special and that no one should be critical of her. 

I stood my ground because I don't believe anyone, a judge or not, should be able to intimidate someone from free speech. 

Especially because she's going to be a judge. 

She's not special. 

She doesn't have some mystic powers that other judges don't have. 

She's mad because I called out the fact that she allegedly had a church organization use church resources to support her campaign. 

And a Facebook group of crazies supported her and went after her opponents in what, in my opinion, was a coordinated effort. 

And because she didn't like that I was raising these issues, she tried to drag me into court in a transparent effort to try to scare and intimidate me. 

She got mad and thought she could drag me into some courtroom pendejada. Well a judge heard the issue and kicked that dumb shit out. 

I've been pushed around by a lot of big shots in town because I'm not shy about stating my opinion. 

Marlene's tag team partner and sister Mayte was also involved. When she wasn't helping Shawn Nixon, Mayte was elbow deep in Marlene's pendejadas. 

Well..scoreboard ladies. You ain't deposing a damn thing. 

Let that be a lesson to all of you who think you're above criticism as an elected official. 

You're not. 

And unless someone knowing says something irresponsible about you that they know to be untrue - and causes demonstrable harm to you - you probably aren't going to be successful suing them. 

Americans are still able to exercise their freedom of speech. 

Its shameful when someone tries to use the court system to settle scores.
