A Safer El Paso, Peeing in the Pool, & Cake!

Its universally understood that most El Pasoans that aren't certi-fucking-fiably nuts want a safe El Paso. But there are some that think politicizing the virus is some sort of political hill they need to climb and die on. 

You know, all the Republitarians that bitch about "muh rats" ("my rights" for all of us familiar with the English language).

Republicans across the country have decided that protecting the community from COVID and supporting local businesses are somehow mutually exclusive. They have tried to sell the public a lemon by saying that you are either on the side of protecting El Pasoans or protecting businesses. 

Wanting what is best for businesses and the community are not mutually exclusive. In fact, you really can't have one without the other.

Chris Yost

Yost is clearly the kinda guy that probably pees in the pool.

I'll get to Mayor Margo in a second, but lets talk about what I consider the local crazies. One example is a guy named Chris Yost. I've written about him before when it appears in a social media post that he was advocating for the assassination of Dee Margo.

Honestly, its more funny than it is sad - although make no mistake about it, the story of people like Chris Yost is inherently sad.

Yost likes attention. He thinks he proves he's a patriot by basically just being an asshole. He calls himself an "Oath Keeper" which is an anti-government group that has the audacity to call themselves "Guardians of the Republic". Not sure how you can be both at the same time, but he seems to believe in their bullshit. I think the only oath they keep is to not shower regularly. 

Recently a few Republicans who are sick of people like Yost being what people think of when they think of El Paso Republicans, sent me several images of Yost seeking to get attention at a given story by fighting the mask mandate.

He loves to tell people that the has a "medical condition" that prevents him from wearing the mask. Then he tells people that they can't ask him what his condition is because of HIPPA rules. 

So all of you that inevitably deal with this fool - let me tell you how to handle him.  First, tell Captain Constitution that you ultimately have the right to refuse service. Yes he can complain he has this or he has that and HIPA blah blah blah.

But at the end of the day, people can just kick his ass out. 

He looked ridiculous the other day when he tried that shit at Barnett Harley Davison. He ran into a business owner who shared his political word view, but understood that his workers had a genuine fear of catching the virus. Basically at some point during his video he all but threatens a lawsuit agains Barnett Harley Davidson and the owner shuts him down.

If Yost every comes down with the virus and he continues to play his little games - he can actually be sued for that.

Sammy Shit Show

Another sad Republican that just wants attention. He and his tag-team partner "Don't call me Pedro" Anthony Aguero will grasp at any opportunity to stay relevant. Its so bad now that they they are having ANOTHER rally this weekend at Yucca Park. Aguero bills it as an Eastside event - someone tell that Pendejo that Yucca Park is in the valley, not the Eastside. 

Its funny to watch Sammy Shit Show and Crazy Conservative another talk about blue lives matter, law and order, arrest the undocumented, etc when they are BOTH felons! I mean they can't stop talking about my couple of bullshit misdemeanors, but these two have had cell mates. 

I'm told the cell mates miss them very much. Something about bottom-bunkers and cleaning the cells. Whatever that means. 

Either way, those two are the type that drink pool-water.

Margo & Company

Lets get serious for a moment. Its Thanksgiving week and those of you that waited until the last minute to grab your turkey are probably peering into those long coolers at grocery stores looking through the remnants of what birds are left. Those long coolers in the grocery industry are called coffins. 

But when people across the country think of El Paso and coolers, they think of the trucks stacked several bodies high of El Pasoans that were killed by the virus. 

Every Republitarian nut out there from their failed congressional and senate candidates running around still talking about a recount that won't wear a mask, or all the Chris Yosts and Sammy Shitshows talking about their rights, forget that the minute that their potentially infected breath leaves their bodies, they are threat to public health. Its no longer about their rights. They are - in language they would understand - a "clear and present danger" to public health. 

They are putting YOUR life in danger for the sake of their likes, shares, and Facebook Live videos.

You know who else has put your life - and the lives of your loved ones in jeopardy? Mayor Dee Margo and his allies on council like City Reps Morgan, Salcido, Lizarraga, and Rodriguez. Make no mistake about it, El Pasoans will die because of their votes. 

Thats not hyperbole. Its a fact. 

And history tends to not shine favorably on leaders that take no action in the face of crisis. And quite frankly, I can't see how any of them look themselves, their neighbors - or their loved ones - in the face with no regret given the current state of the virus in our community. 

I doubt that there is anyone from that faction of council that has spoken to a frontline healthcare worker dealing with the virus. I doubt any of them have spoken to an RN or respiratory tech that fought like hell to save someone coding out. I doubt they have ever spoken to a tech or a housekeeping staff that had to go and clean up a room full of all matter of bodily fluid of a COVID positive patient without proper PPE. 

All these hospital workers going home and doing a ritual of changing their clothing after pulling a double to try to do whatever they can to keep their families safe. For them, its all about sticking with Margo and sticking with the governor. 

When it should be about sticking with you, sticking with our community, and sticking with our health care workers. 

And you know what has been completely wallpapered over by council, but the community hasn't forgotten? The fact that they City Attorney ignored the orders from the County Judge meant to keep our community safe so she could have a birthday party. 

The person charged with giving legal advice to our city leaders breaks the rules and rather than apologizing to fellow El Pasoans and promising to do better, she offers a dumb defense of her privacy being invaded. 

That would be the dumbest thing heard locally in the pandemic if it weren't followed up by Margo's defense of the city attorney by saying he was upset he didn't get any birthday cake. People are dying, lives are forever changed, dead bodies are stacked in freezer trucks, and Margo laughs it off with a joke about birthday cake!

At a time out community needs leadership the most, we don't have a mayor and allies on city council that are taking the situation seriously. We have "leaders" that think its all a big joke. If that doesn't anger you now - give it a couple weeks when people who are asymptotic go and infect their elderly relatives for Thanksgiving. 

When El Pasoans are mourning the passing of their loved ones, dying alone, in a strange place, away from the families, struggling to get a gulp of air and the only way loved ones have to say goodbye to their family member is through the FaceTime call of a kind nurse or tech offering one final glimpse of their loved one before they code out. 

And your mayor is making jokes about birthday cake and saying we aren't "normal Caucasians". 

Just when you think the current state of affairs can't get any worse - stop and ponder the prospect of Oscar Leeser being in charge during the pandemic. You know, the guy that city fell for the good ol' Nigerian prince email scam under his watch. 

Have you ever tried to get repairs from a car dealer under a warranty? Yeah, you think he's gonna do any better of a job? Quite frankly I can't understand why Carbajal or Gallinar backed him. He's gonna win with or without their support. They don't have any impact on the outcome of the race, but if he is even worse with the virus than Margo, they hitched themselves to that wagon. 

Leeser is quiet, has no plan for dealing with the virus, and is even more tied to the business community than Margo. And of course he's quite about his plans (I don't think he has any) about how to deal with the virus because his campaign guy Eddie Holguin at least knows enough to tell him that when your opponent is cutting their own throat - let them. 

Early voting starts this week. 

And this is the sad situation we are in.
