Local Republicans & The 'Rona

Well Republican sacrificial lamb candidate for Senator, Bethany Hatch, had her middle-of-a-global-pandemic wine tasting fundraiser last Saturday night.

This is shortly following the hospitalization of the Trump who caught the coronavirus because he wasn't following the guidelines of his own administration's CDC. The Trump cluster is growing every day with newly discovered infected GOPers that attended events with him in recent days were there were no masks and people were in close proximity to one another for prolonged periods of time.

Those events led to the Trump Cluster.

Well predictably Hatch's fundraiser wasn't any different. Here's a picture of her with most of the attendees at her fundraiser and as you can see - no masks.

The Democratic Party hasn't had an in-person event since the start of the pandemic in order to keep everyone safe. You'd think the Republican Party, who's base is just a couple years short of being fossilized, would be more prudent about public health.

And honestly, its not a joke. We are having a major spike in cases right now. We had more than 350 new cases of the virus on the day of this event. Not the week - the day of this event.

It is yet another example of how they have politicized the virus. They think wearing a mask is a sign of political affiliation. They think by not wearing their masks they are "owning the libs".

They aren't. They are endangering this community.

Not-so-ironically one of Hatch's biggest supporters is the westside Karen leading the charge to send kids back into schools, endangering not only the kids but teachers and staff.

Her name is Kendall Brown. She's also a Trump national delegate.

The fact that you have someone who publicly demonstrates that she's not taking the steps to protect herself, her family, much less the community, who is pushing hard to get kids back into in-class instruction is not only alarming, but its irresponsible.

But what is worse is the fact that Kendall Brown has admitted that she took her kids out of public school weeks ago. So her kids are probably going to a private or charter school that for whatever reason seems to think its safe to have in-class instruction - but she's still on a crusade to put YOUR kids in danger by pushing in-class instruction.

The virus doesn't care that you're a Republican, that you love the 2nd Amendment, that you think religion should be in our government while simultaneously admonishing sharia law. The virus isn't a hoax, its not a political entity, its real.

It exists, regardless of what Trump says.

Don't believe me? Ask one of your own, Herman Cain. Oh wait - you can't.

Because he's dead.

From the virus.

When you hold in-person events like this, no distancing, no masks - or when you're pushing to get kids crammed into schools, it is inevitably going to lead to someone's death. Its not a matter of if - its a matter of when, how many, and who.

Some teacher who profoundly impacts a students life, or some hard working service worker at one of the fancy schmancy Republican little-pinky events, is going to get sick and die.

Its time for the party of personal responsibility, to actually take a little freaking responsibility and understand that we are all in this together, whether we like it or not.
