The Shawn Nixon Thing Just Got Weirder
People from the Northeast really hate that I make fun of just how much of shit show their city council races always are, but they never cease to be a desmadre.
Only in the Northeast can you have an incumbent city rep run for reelection despite still facing a DV charge in court, have a pro-life former Republican who compared Trump to Reagan, and ... the Shawn Nixon Show.
Seriously Shawn Nixon's campaign couldn't be more of a joke if he had a zoo of tigers and a beef with Carol Baskins. He kinda already has the blonde mullet.
Nixon has now apparently topped $300k in hot checks for his campaign - which miraculously doesn't appear to include any charges for mail delivery! Can you imagine how much mail you could drop on an opponent with a $300k budget?
Well, it actually does get weirder. I haven't seen a bigger and more ridiculous mental breakdown and implosion since I ran into K-Aaron Paz had his full-on Kaaron BBQ meltdown at Carolina.
Nixon apparently pulled a Melania Trump, and posted this Facebook posting:
You'll see why I mention the first lady later....
So Nixon posted this status update recently. Pretty articulate message.
And given the fact that there is an over-under of when he's getting arrested (Election Day is the pivot point on that bet), this cycle is even more interesting.
Anywho...Nixon posted that status update.
Well it turns out he pulled a Melania Trump and plagiarized someone else's words.
These are the words of a young man who was running for office in West Hollywood named James Duke Mason. If he's not an actor, he should be with a cool name like that.
If you listen to Nixon speak or you have read any of his social media posts previously you'd know that he frequently misspells words and uses idioms incorrectly. That post doesn't even remotely sound like Nixon. And its no surprise why it doesn't - because they aren't Nixon's words. He flat out stoled them from James Duke Mason. Here's what Mason wrote when he was a candidate and getting criticism for his age.
Nixon is certainly young. But that isn't the criticism he gets. No one cares that he's young. They apparently don't care that he dresses like he works at Foot Locker for debates.
What he gets criticized for is racking up a ton of debt by writing bad checks and then coming up with wild fish stories after the fact.
So the fact that he plagiarized a Facebook post should surprise no one.
