Tejano Troubles & Lawyering Up

Well its about to get real in the Tejano Democrats.

Word around the beer cooler is that some subjects in the latest episode of the where's-the-money novela at the Tejano Democrats is that there may be a criminal complaint filed and that at least one - if not more - members that are under scrutiny for the issues going on has lawyered up.

That isn't surprising when you take a deep-dive into this on-going dispute. Eddie Holguin tried to get out while he could and distance himself from this internal scandal that has affected his wife, Iliana Holguin's campaign. But his business partner Lily Limón and the other VP that is part of his posse, Chris Acosta, didn't take the same tactic. They, along with Dr. Anna Perez who is the treasurer, have decided to dig their heels in and try to take over following Eddie Holguin's departure.

With business partners like that, who needs enemies, amirite?

So things look to be escalating and that has to be driving Iliana Holguin's newest consultant - Norma Chavez - nuts. If Norma is smart - and she isn't - she would've told him and his clique to walk away from all of this for the good of Iliana's campaign. But they didn't and now there's a good chance that there's going to be legal issues that are going to be another headache for Iliana.

So what I'm hearing is that apart from the Eddie-paid-himself-with-Tejano-money movida, the other issue being looked at is how all of a sudden the Tejanos ended up with so many members.

As I mentioned previously, there's actually a state statute that might be in play here. But worse, it is quite possible something that could be considered fraud.

What this possibly comes down to is fraud. If a formal complaint is made with law enforcement against the treasurer and/or former chair - its going to be a news story.

The Holguin's certainly don't want that but titles are important to their allies in their clique.

If the Tejanos decide to go all the way with this one, then things could get really bad for the Treasurer and former Chair because according to the State Treasurer, both Holguin and the Treasurer signed a notarized roster form attesting to the membership and officer list.

I acquired a screenshot of a text from the state treasurer regarding that issue.

What is the most funny part of this is the fact that had all his click decided to bounce when Eddie did, the rest of the Tejanos probably wouldn't have started looking into the membership movida. But his click not only held on, but they wanted to start holding secret meetings on the Rez to try to kick people out of Tejanos permanently and started a civil war within the Tejanos that will likely cost them political casualties at this point.

And personally - I can't get enough of it. I don't know about you, but I find this shit entertaining as hell.

I am going to record Tuesday's meeting because you just KNOW its going to be a desmadre brought to you courtesy of the Eddie Holguin clique.
