Tamayo's Tales

Elisa Tamayo tells a lot of tall tales. Its time she was called out on them.

The biggest one is this "raised on both sides of the border" thing. She says it all the time and its even printed on most of her lit. She's trying to give the impression that she was born in El Paso and raised in Juarez, which is a pretty common border experience.

But like I've been saying all along - she's not really connected to El Paso and she's tipped her hand about that all along the campaign trail with some of the things she has said.

However, here's something really interesting to take into consideration about thee whole raised-on-both-sides-of-the-border thing.

This a screenshot from an article in UTEP's paper in which she personally cites Chihuahua City as her hometown. By her own admission.

It doesn't say El Paso is her hometown. It very clearly says Chihuahua City.

Why?

Because Tamayo is a carpet bagger.

Tamayo identifies Chihuahua City as her hometown so that means that she was born in El Paso but by her own admission grew up four hours away from El Paso.

You know what else is 4 hours away? Actually 20 minutes closer to El Paso than Chihuahua City...Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tucson is also four hours away. So is Odessa.

Does anyone think people in Albuquerque, Odessa, or Tucson are El Pasoans?

Hell no, the entire premise is ridiculous. But that is what Tamayo has been trying to pass off to voters.

She's really only lived in El Paso for a short time. When she wasn't living in Arkansas...or DC...or Austin.

I know I mentioned this before, but when she says that the Wal-Mart where the shooting was is "my Wal-Mart", the reality is she probably did more shopping at an H-E-B in Austin than the Walmart at Cielo.

Campaign Money

Tamayo is probably the most fake about this subject. She either doesn't know - which should be a disqualifier by itself - or she knows and she's still being a hypocrite, but she gets the same money she complains about.

In fact, Tamayo has spent most of the campaign trail talking about "conflicts of interest" and money from "big donors" or "billionaires".  Well, let me state the obvious - if she could have the money from wealthy local donors, she damn sure would take the money. She probably wouldn't hesitate in the least.

How do I know?

Simple.

She has no problem taking money from billionaires. She took thousands of dollars in campaign money from the Houston suga daddy that drops money on whatever candidates that Republican Max Grossman tells him too.

And all that money that she and her supporters claim is so bad that Claudia Ordaz Perez gets? Funny how her major donors are the El Paso delegation and guess who gives them money?

She doesn't have a problem taking money from them.

Nothing voters hate more than hypocrisy.

Street Cred

Tamayo dropped a mailer that couldn't define what I'm talking about more if she tried.

Let me back up for a second. She's been trying to act like she's an El Paso girl since she announced her campaign live from Austin.

If you listen to what she says on the campaign trail she says stuff like, "I have a lot in common with people from El Paso" and "I got to know this community when I worked for ...."and other comments.

Thats just not language people from El Paso use. They usually ask each other where they went to school. Thats when she falls back on I Grew Up On Both Sides Of The Border thing.

Her latest mailer shows two things I think are of note. First, its a totally staged picture of her and a supporter that she is "block walking". The person pictured is a supporter from the start.

The last part is that Tamayo has the nerve to do something that is the personification of her campaign. She's so out of touch with the valley that she appears to have photoshopped herself into a picture in front of the Virgen de Guadalupe in Ysleta.

Seriously, at this point its comical.
