Norma Chavez Backs Elisa Tamayo

If you ever need to recalibrate your political compass - just find Norma Chavez, see who she supports and execute an about-face.

The disgraced former State Rep for House District 76 that ruined her political career by going on an anti-LGBTQ rant against her then-challenger Naomi Gonzalez had a notorious reputation throughout El Paso and Austin as a result of the controversial outburst.

Well she's endorsed Elisa Tamayo for her old seat.

The funny thing about Norma endorsing Tamayo is how much it must hurt her that Tamayo doesn't advertise the fact that she's endorsed by Norma.

Tamayo never met an endorsement she didn't like. She rolls out every "Endorsement alert!" she can.

But the one she never talks about is the endorsement of former State Representative Norma Chavez who famously held the same seat until her career self-destructed on the aforementioned attack on an LGBTQ opponent.

If you all have forgotten about that, lets walk down memory lane shall we? Its rare you can actually see the exact moment when someone's political career ends, but you can in this video. Its like a National Geographic video, but for politics. Start at about 6:30 in and by the 7 minute mark you'll remember what I was talking about.

Thats the lady endorsing Elisa Tamayo for here old seat. If you know Norma, you also know that Norma absolutely HATES progressives.

I hope no one tells Progressive Texas that.

And honestly, it must be bothering Chavez like crazy that Tamayo doesn't talk about having her support. Tamayo has all kids of people block walk for her - just about every member of the delegation, City Reps Hernandez and Annello, and Commissioner Stout. She takes cute little selfies with them too, like State Rep Mary Gonzalez staring down a kitty. I guess she didn't bring her baby goat.

Anywho - Tamayo even advertises supporters who are NOT elected officials. Hell, she even lists precinct chairs that endorse her.

But not Chavez.

Maybe she's ashamed. I don't blame her. But it has got to be getting on Norma's last nerve that people don't want to advertise her support. She once thought she was the queen of the Valley. And now, she gets big-timed by precinct chairs.

Zas! Thats gacho!

One thing is for sure - Norma is right about that last sentence. She says, "Who represents you matters".

Yes it does, Norma.

Yes.

It.

Does.
