The Tejanos Event & Movida
The Tejanos are having their dinner this weekend and since they were, I thought I would mention a few things about it and the Tejanos that you might find humorous.
First, you're paying all that money for tickets to see a Juan Gabriel impersonator. Seriously, that is what you're blowing your money on. Why are you paying that kind of money to see a Juanga impersonator?
Because Eddie is obsessed with Juanga.
And not only is he obsessed with him, Eddie Holguin thinks he's still alive and that he faked his death.
I'm not making that up. He sat and waited for the resurrection day holding vigil. I'm surprised he didn't put candles up at the Virgen mural on Alameda.
But then again, sometimes he says that Juanga's son killed him. But its Eddie and so you can't believe anything he says anyway.
They had the budget to get a really good performer - there were a few people suggested like Michael Salgado and some other performers. Previously they've had Little Joe perform too.
But nope, you're getting a cheesy impersonator.
Speaking of Tejanos and movidas - apparently Eddie Holguin has been sending emails to the State Tejanos organization members in order to get campaign donations for his wife, Iliana. So word got back to me that those folks are pissed because when they unsubscribe they indicate that they ending up unsubscribing from the Tejanos list.
I don't know if the membership authorized Eddie to send that out and haven't seen that as an action item on the last few agendas of their meetings. But hey, its Eddie's organization and he does what he wants.
Also, the endorsements for Tejanos haven't happened yet but again, rules don't apply to Eddie so he sent out this announcement for his wife without a vote endorsing her either. I guess he doesn't feel he needs to check with membership for anything.
Except that he actually does need to check with the membership on things before he does them, and the fact that he doesn't is starting to piss off a lot of members.
That riff started when he tried to push out Mary Bowles Gasca of her position as Vice President in the state entity. Then people started taking issue with the fact that he was paying himself to send out mail in support of the Tejano candidates.
Then after that little dirty secret became public he stopped sending out text messages to the membership reminding them of the meetings because he wasn't getting paid to do it.
Turns out there were free apps to do it and the members that know that are even more upset
That and other little movidas he does to artificially inflate the numbers of members. He does that because Tejanos vote by strength of chapters so he wants to make sure that there are more members from El Paso so that El Paso could call the shots at the state level.
Except they don't because Eddie is a terrible leader and all his little movidas accomplish nothing. Turns out that Bowls-Gasca won another term as State Vice-President despite Eddie's best attempts to make sure she didn't.
That dinner tomorrow not should be FUN!
And if you think that is gonna be fun, you're not gonna wanna miss the Tuesday meeting of the CEC.
