Another Resign to Run?
Seriously are you people even paying the slightest attention to the politics happening around you? Another elected official appears to have triggered the resign-to-run clause here in El Paso.
This time its a Republican congressional candidate.
Canutillo ISD Trustee Blanca Trout has made what was rumored official recently. She's a Republican candidate for Congress.
Now the race for the Republican congressional nomination is a complete and total joke. No one should be taken seriously as a candidate and quite frankly, voters will not take any of them seriously. Hell Weed Guy Pierrer from public comment might be more appealing than any of those candidates on the right.
But nonetheless, they have to actually have a primary to decide who is going to get trounced by Escobar next November. It doesn't honestly matter which one of them wins because their views are going to be so soundly rejected by the electorate - but someone has to actually win.
What kills me about this is how stupid do you have to be to not understand that Cassandra Hernandez just screwed herself over by her own ineptness by announcing to run well before December, causing the rule to kick in.
Perhaps some of you may have heard.
If you haven't heard, Cassandra Hernandez had a press conference after the last city council meeting where council set an election to replace her. She came out saying that "all options are on the table". I guess she was trying to give the impression that she was trying to invade the Northeast if her demands weren't met.
And while we're talking about it...what the hell kind of bullshit argument is it that there wasn't any "due process" for her? She was notified of the meeting. She got a lawyer who spent most of his time telling people he was a Marine instead of actually arguing for his client.
She can still go to court if she wants to. At what point can anyone rationally argue that she wasn't given due process?
I wonder if the same people that made that argument for Hernandez will say the same thing about Blanca Trout? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say, uh....no.
Anywho, here's a push card I acquired. Looks like Canutillo is gong to be headed for a special election to replace someone on their school board.

My absolute favorite thing about how terrible things a design this is, is the fact that the world "integrity" is inexplicably in quotation marks.
