D3 - Who's Wearing the Hard Hat Next?

So the District 3 race is already heating up regardless of whether or not former City Rep Cassandra Hernandez has come to grips with it yet.

I guess she just really wants to keep wearing that hard hat. I'm sure she could work something out with Mayor Margo to keep it.

Game of Thrones had the Iron Throne, I guess D3 has the construction helmet - which is pretty ironic considering how bad the roads are in that district.

But hey, since we are playing dress-up, why not make the rest of council dress up like the rest of the Village People?

What do you think? Mayor Margo as the Leather Chaps guy, or the Navy guy? I'm leaning toward the Leather Chaps guy, if for no other reason than the Fu Manchu facial hair.

Anywho, I know of at least two women and 3 men ready to throw their hat in the ring for the seat.

Most of the people vying for the position are new faces and one of them has held office before, so its mostly a crop of new people looking to represent District 3. A couple of them seem pretty viable.

Next city council meeting will be when they set the election - and there could possibly more people that jump in. Its a really quick sprint to the finish line for that seat if they set it for November.

While Hernandez is busy thinking about herself and her own ability to get a salary from the city for the next year, the reality is this situation could be much worse for her. If they set the election for another date and have to have a special election to replace her, its going to cost the tax payers money.

The issue was supposed to be settled on Monday, but as usual City Rep Peter Svarzbein has a really hard time making decisions that are even in the neighborhood of difficult. He always looks for the easy way out on decisions and of course, he was the city rep that wanted to delay the vote.

If your political ambition is going to cost tax payer's money, that is a negative mailer waiting to happen. As it is she's going to have to deal with mailers about her criminal history and that is going to be a bitter pill for her to swallow.

A quick sprint to a November could be pretty inexpensive but will require some pretty strong field work. Once the dust settles on who is in the field, it will probably be pretty clear who is going to be a front runner.

Some of them are clearly not viable, a couple of them could pull it off.

The real question is what impact will it have on council and what is Annello gonna do with out her BFF on council?
