Loweree's Campaign Finance Report
I swear, its always something when it comes to Carlos Sierra and finance reports.
Trustee Mickey Loweree lists her occupation as a "volunteer" on her application to run for her seat. You can check here if you don't believe me.
I don't know if she's independently wealthy or something but there were a few things on her campaign finance report made me curious, so I looked up the address she lists on CAD.
She apparently isn't the owner, the owner's name is a guy named Edgar Norton.
Here is a link to her full finance report, but I want to draw your attention to what made me curious about her place.
Line 4 is how much she loaned herself for this campaign. Yeah, $10,000 is a lot of money for a school board election. I don't know that I've ever seen that much money spent for a school board election previously, which I guess is somewhat of a news story in and of itself.
So she lists her occupation as a "volunteer" on the application for a place on the ballot. But volunteers don't make any money. Then the address listed shows that it is owned by someone else, which means she's a renter. So how does she come up with rent money every month as a volunteer?
This probably wouldn't be so suspicious if it weren't for the fact that someone who just got called out for making alleged false statements about her employment as a teacher and education - appears to be unemployed - but somehow came up with 10 grand to throw into a school board race.
What is interesting is that she lent herself the money and then in the same day gave 100% of the money to the infamous Carlos Sierra - who is the guy behind the shady PAC that went after Escobar in the last election cycle and failed to comply with federal campaign finance regulations.
It is also strange the the address he lists appears to be a shopping center with an H&R Block, a cell phone store, and a Mexican restaurant. Which is actually a major step up for Carlos Sierra, who used to use an address that was a vacant lot on the westside.
Sierra is also listed as an in-kind contributor but no other money is listed as expenditures on her report.
I was sent a picture of Loweree's lit that was left at homes following her block walk last week and she makes an interesting claim on the lit. She refers to herself as a "volunteer teacher" with EPISD. Well I called EPISD and spoke to their HR department and there is no such position as a volunteer teacher.
If you recall, Ross Moore from the El Paso Federation of Teachers, has asserted that Lowere's claims of being a teacher in EPISD for 10 years that is included in her bio on the EPISD website, is untrue. Loweree has not denied the claims that her statements were false. The union further alleged that they could find no record of her graduating from UTEP, a claim also made on the website. She's not made a statement denying the veracity of El Paso AFT's claim either.
And now someone with no demonstrable income lent herselt $10,000 that went directly to Carlos Sierra?
I'm telling you, its always something with that guy.
