Another Carlos Sierra Candidate Has Reporting Issues

The last post I did was about questionable items reported on a campaign finance report for a candidate tied to Carlos Sierra. This is about a candidate tied to Carlos Sierra that apparently didn't even bother to file a campaign finance report.

Yet another candidate from Carlos Sierra's stable appears to have issues with reporting campaign financing in accordance with the law.

I know, its almost comical at this point because Sierra is so synonymous with skirting or flat-out ignoring campaign finance reporting rules.

Tom Hicks is a candidate for the EPISD seat for the Franklin area and is the ONLY candidate for EPISD in any of the feeder patterns that has NOT filed a campaign finance report. You are required to file a campaign finance report if you spend more than $500 on a given campaign. Given the number of signs he has up, a website, and printed materials - it is hard to believe that he hasn't exceeded the $500 threshold.

At a time when transparency is such a focus at EPISD it is incredibly surprising that Hicks didn't file a campaign finance report.

Carlos Sierra notoriously operated a PAC during the last congressional race that was essentially Dori Fenenbock's anti-Escobar machine.

Fenenbock and EPISD Super Juan Cabrera had a tight relationship and it was even alleged that Cabrera was soliciting campaign donations for her campaign.

Hicks' association with Sierra has led to many speculating about whether he was going to be a Cabrera rubber stamp.

You can click on this link and it will take you to the reporting page for candidates.

As you can see, even candidates that raised and spent no money, though not required by law to do so, filed a campaign finance report.
