Sierra Slip Up?

The question mark implies that it might have been a mistake.

Maybe, but given his track record, I don't think it was a mistake, I just think he doesn't give a damn about rules.

El Paso ISD Trustee Mickey Loweree is running for re-election in the Coronado area and appears to have made a video for her campaign and used at least one EPISD campus to do so.

You are not allowed to campaign on school grounds unless that campus is a polling location and only during the time that it is being used as a polling location. You also can't use public resources to campaign.

But in a recent campaign video posted on her social media page, you can clearly see that she is actually on an EPISD campus.

Here's a screenshot and I pointed an arrow at the name of the school. As you can see in the bottom corner, that is her campaign logo - which clearly identifies that this is a political spot.

This was from a video shoot that Carlos Sierra posted about a few weeks ago where he was talking about nothing but the best for his candidates - which includes Hicks in District 6.

The problem with all of this is that Loweree is a trustee and should know you can't conduct campaign activities on campus.

And if she doesn't know, why the hell is she a trustee? Is it the worlds biggest infraction? No, and compared to other stuff Carlos Sierra has done, this is small potatoes. He's done far worse and to this day his shady PAC still hasn't complied with campaign finance laws. Hell media is already watching to see if he pulls the same thing with campaign finance reports with his race.

When you are at the most controversial member of the most controversial school board and you hire the most controversial consultant to do your campaign work, you can't be surprised when deliberate flaunting of the rules gets attention.

Now you are allowed to shoot from a side walk in front of a school, but you can't be on campus. Here's what I mean - Daniel call is Loweree's opponent. If you click this link and watch his campaign video, you can see him in front of a school, but his campaign manager says there were shooting from the street and that an official with the district instructed them they were not allowed to be on campus shooting video for a political spot.

So why is the trustee getting away with it?

At a time when there are so many things going on at EPISD and when it is under such tremendous scrutiny, it boggles the mind why Loweree wouldn't at least stop during the shooting of the spot and question whether or not it was okay. It also makes you wonder where security and administration on campus where when this went down.

They either didn't notices there was a trustee, extras, and a film crew on campus, which is scary - or they knew and looked the other way because she's a trustee.
