EPISD Candidate Forum

You'll get a chance to kick the tires of the candidates for EPISD at a forum that is being hosted by the El Paso County Democratic Party and moderated by State Board of Education Member District 1 Georgina Perez this Thursday, March 7th.

This is likely to be the biggest forum both because it will likely have the most candidates participating in it and will likely have the most attendees.

Though the Democratic Party is hosting the forum, it is a non-partisan race and the questions will be obviously centered around education, not party platform issues.

The questions are being formulated by a cross-section of community, policy, and education professionals.

I don't have information on the format, but having an education policy expert who runs a tight ship like Perez moderating the forum means that the questions will be substantive and there's not going to be any craziness that happens.

No one that has endorsed or supported a candidate publicly or privately is participating in the forum in order to ensure it will be a non-biased examination of the candidates.

The forum will be held at 6pm this Thursday at the Mc Call Neighborhood Center, 3231 Wyoming Ave, El Paso, TX 79903.

For those unable to attend the event will be recorded and available as a podcast - details about where to catch that podcast will be posted later once I find that information out.

If you're wanting to see the candidates, this will probably be your best opportunity to do so.

EPISD is a desmadre. Your vote matters more now than ever before. Show up and listen to these people. You're going to make them in charge of the largest part of your tax bill, choose wisely.
