City Council Item on Leaking Confidential Information

Where are the pinche crazies on this one?

Today there was an item put on the agenda by City Representatives Noe and Rivera regarding the leaking and dissemination of confidential information.

Apparently the leak of information that was not otherwise available to the public via legal means like an Open Records Request because it didn't fall under the provisions allegedly hurt El Paso tax payers to the tune of a couple million dollars. I don't know the exact figure but that is the last number I heard.

That is an expensive mistake you and I have to pay for.

So council wants to talk about the repercussions and get some legal advice on it.

The measure was postponed until after the New Year, presumably to give the lawyers an opportunity to look into this issue.

Apparently various members of council have been accusing one another of selective leaking of documents to media outlets for quite some time but it intensified over the Doo-ruhn-gee-toe issue and as a result one the City Reps decided to push for documents that are sensitive and distributed to members of council to have a watermark specific to that city rep that way it would either discourage the leaking of those documents, or at the least make it easy to know who leaked them.

From what I'm told, it was District 2 City Rep Alexsandra Annello that pushed that policy.

More interestingly is that her BFF District 7 City Rep Hernandez, who is in the shadow of suspicion over the latest selective leak, was absent from today's meeting.

As I've previously written, if Rep Hernandez is the source of the alleged leak, its going to make things really uncomfortable around City Hall because Hernandez's current beau is Jeremy Jordan who is working with the police officer's union in some alleged capacity.

Some at city hall are calling that alleged connection a blatant conflict of interest.

Anywho, she wasn't at the city council meeting today.

I'm sure she'll be in attendance at the meeting to which this item was rescheduled.
