Jim Tolbert's Story

Gotta love David K. I mean the guy's family has maxed out their contributions to Dori Fenenbock and he's always done Jim Tolbert's bidding and now he's directing Jim Tolbert's latest attempt at staying relevant.

Seriously can't recall a more blatant example of a guy being on the take for a political class in El Paso than David K.

So he posted a letter that Jim Tolbert wrote and it became a story in the Times. I'm writing about it today because I found it hilarious that Norma Chavez's announcement messed up David K and Tolbert's little movida.

In the article Tolbert alleges something I think everyone had already assumed, that Susie Byrd helped him write the ethics complaint about Larry Romero and the City Manager. Apparently that was some sort of earth shattering revelation to David K because well, he's kinda obsessed with Byrd in a weird way. But it shouldn't have been.

Jim should've been honest with his boy The Juice and told him the truth a long time ago. All of a sudden Jimbo grows a conscience and makes an (not) earth shattering revelation in the middle of election season?

Seriously, do I always have to be the guy that points out the obvious? Okay, I guess so.

So here goes - David K is in Dori's pocket. It makes sense that he would be her personal blogger, after all they are both Republicans. DKs family is financially connected to both Fenenbock and Tolbert. The fact that Jim all of a sudden pens this "confession" during campaign season is a pretty transparent political move toward revenge.

But my favorite part of the El Paso Times article is the part where they question the timing of Tolbert's revelation. And this is where it all goes to hell for Tolbert.

On the one hand, he's saying he was putty in Susie's hands and basically does what he is instructed to do.

And then later he is asked by the paper about the timing of the allegations and he flat-out says he was encouraged to come forward.

Anyone want to venture a guess as to who could have potentially benefitted from such a (not-so) startling reservation? That's okay, you don't have to guess. Check out this screen shot from Dori Fenenbock:

When he's asked about the timing he says he was encouraged to write the letter.

So lets sum this up...he's confessing that he's malleable and has done in the past, and is doing now, what others tell him to do.

If Tolbert was trying to rehab his image and come across as a martyr, he failed miserably. The question people should be asking is simple - who was encouraging him to write that letter?

Its pretty funny that Fenenbock's post sounds like a watergate comparison when she asks what did she know and when did she know it (speaking of Escobar)?

I think its pretty notable that Fenenbock actually chose to speak about a news item because she's been pretty silent about news items related to EPISD. But the reality is, Fenebock has to show up to a candidate forum somewhere, sometime. And when she does, she's almost certainly going to be asked about the shady bid process

In fact, I think most people want to know what did she know and when did she know it?
