NFL Rant

Domestic violence is a crappy thing. Its not something to be made fun of and its something to be taken seriously.

The NFL has screwed up the handling of this situation at every turn. Now it turns out that they had access to the video a long time ago. The only reason they are coming down hard now is because the video got out.

Which tells me they weren't looking to do the right thing from the get-go. They are coming down on the guy to save face.

Frankly the wife is getting victimized by this whole thing again. Its bad enough she's married to that piece of crap. But now the piece of crap can't make any money to support the family. Who's getting hurt by that? Yeah sure he is, but so is she.

And when he gets pissed about not being able to play football and make any money, exactly who do you think he's going to blame? It wouldn't surprise me if she was abused again.

But lets be real for a minute. No matter how badly they screwed up in the handling of this case, its not gonnna have a measurable impact on the NFL. People aren't going to stop watching games, going to games or buy merchandise. They simply aren't.

So lets move on to the part that is really annoying me about this whole ordeal. If you've never been a victim of domestic violence, then you don't know the cycle it can become. For those of us who've never had some drunk vato come home and beat on us and force us to have sex with him, it seems easy to judge the woman in this case.

She should just leave him. She's stupid for staying with him. What a dumbass for marrying him.

Yeah thats easy to say. But you aren't in her shoes. You haven't lived her life. And now you want to be part of the victimization she's had to endure by thinking YOU know better? If just leaving were that simple, there would be no need for shelters for people that are victims of domestic violence.

Its easy to judge someone else life choices when you've never lived their life. Worry about your own life choices first before judging someone you only know from a TMZ video or Sportscenter.
