Constables on Cruise Control

I know its too early to call a race, mostly because the filing deadline hasn't closed, but I doubt that two of the constable running for office are going to have any trouble getting elected.

In fact, next to the Sheriff and Joe Moody, I think they are probably two of the most-popular Democrats in town. I'm speaking of Constable Hector Bernal (Central) and Constable Robert White (Westside).

Bernal had a fundraiser on the same day as former Chief of Police Carlos Leon had his campaign announcement. Bernal easily had 3, maybe 4 times the amount of attendees.

For a CONSTABLE!

Robert White is the longest-serving Constable is racking up the endorsements. I think he's pulled all of them so far.

They both have opponents, but I've never heard of either of their opponents and they don't have a presence within the Democratic Party.

Bernal and White are perfect examples of how it pays to have a presence with voters between elections. Unless a big name or an experienced campaigning with some cash suddenly jump in the race, they are going to cruise to victory.
