Aaron Barraza Speaks to El Paso Young Democrats
Aaron Barraza, candidate for House District 77 addressing the El Paso Young Democrats meeting last night.
Barraza was the guest speaker for the month of January and will be facing State Representative Marisa Marquez in the primary election. Marquez will be the guest speaker at next month's meeting of the El Paso Young Democrats.
The venue for that is going to change, and I will keep you all posted.
Barraza spoke about his background and said Marquez was a failure in terms of Representation. Barraza also spoke about cuts in education, the budget, and characterized Marquez as "micro-managing" school districts with unfunded mandates.

What do you mean by "walgreens world"?
ReplyDeleteMs. Palacios,
ReplyDeleteAaron started his own business at age 22. During his time at UT, he helped raise over $400,000 for an underserved elementary school and served as a mentor at another. As a sole proprietor, he pays taxes to the State of Texas, these sales taxes from businesses compromise almost half of our state's budget. That might constitute as a "real job" to some folks. He is campaigning to be a State Representative, is this NOT a "real job?"
You mentioned that Republican's run the house... so let's all just give up then, right? Or maybe let's try to elect Democrats who actually vote in alignment with Democrats.
The attitude of turning away young, enthusiastic activists is exactly the problem that your comment illustrates. How can we expect anything to change when our ears are shut and our attitudes are negative?
UTEP Student and lifelong El Pasoan,
Carlos Cardenas
We agree with Carlos Cardenas and will vote for Aaron Barraza!
