Wolves & Alligators
Beware people, there are wolves in the midst of alligators!
I've discovered something pretty interesting and I think people need to know about it. There is at least one former somebody who seems determined to get back in to politics and I think she's trying to hijack a good movement to meet her political goal.
Let me be clear. I'd want the alligators to stay where they are at. I had Miguel Juarez on my show this weekend and we discussed keeping the alligators there. Its a connection to our past, that is sometimes not so pretty, but certainly interesting and heart-felt. Like family history.
As you all know, I am also against the recall. But someone is trying to get some political payback against some people she doesn't like and is going to try to rally people recall Susie Byrd, Steve Ortega, and Mayor Cook, by trying to blend the plazita gators and the recall movement.
Don't by the bullshit people. Anyone who has the nerve to look themselves in the mirror and call themselves a Democrat can not support the recall effort. True Democrats support equality and social justice. That is a core Democratic Party value.
If people were actually recalled because a combined effort of alligators and bigots, understand one thing. The people who are supportive of alligators would be siding with bigots. And the story would be that the bigots won, not the alligators.
El Paso would look like a city full of bigots and that is something I just can't stomach considering we are a town that is 80% + Latino.
I am asking my friends and fellow supporters of the Plazita alligators to open your eyes. No good is served to this town if we keep alligators but lose our dignity by being labeled a town full of bigots in the process.
And oh yeah...are you even sure that the people you are targeting are even on the opposite side of the issue? It wouldn't surprise me if Susie Byrd and Steve Ortega wanted to keep the alligators there.
Some people believe in conspiracies and love to fight windmills. Don't let them take you down the wrong path.
