Dion Dorado Shows His True Colors

For a guy who wrote a pretty interesting comment on my blog last week, you'd think he'd come up with a better nickname thant "el" or "the" for the bilingually impared.

The problem with Dorado's campaign, other than what appears to be a pretty consistent lack of effort, has been messaging. I doubt there was ever really a substantive discussion about campaign messaging and I think Dorado basically came up with things on the fly.

Most of the time that I've heard him speak, which isn't very often because he really hasn't been around at too many events, he simply rambles on and on. Campaign highlights included a big argument with another canididate during the primary, Sergio Coronado, at a west side forum, and saying that it was time for change at another forum because his opponent is old.

I don't disagree. Bruce King is old and I'm pretty sure he's been the JP on the westside since Texas was in the Confederacy. But Dorado is no spring chicken himself and a friend of mine that attended the forum couldn't help laughing when one old man called another candidate an old man.

When he spoke at the Canutillo rally, no one listened and he went on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on, etc ( you get my drift). I had to interrupt him in order to get the mike back from him. In fairness to Dorado, that was my fault. I was duly warned by party organizers to not let go of the mike because he would go on forever and I'd never be able to get the mike back.

After speaking to a few lawyers I found a pretty consistent critique from the attorneys about Dorado. If you've heard be interview people that are running for judicial seats you regularly hear them say the word "temperment" as one the more important, if not the most important, factors in choosing someone for the bench.

The consistent critique is that he doesn't have the temperment to be an effective jurist. It was consistenly stated by several lawyers that know Mr. Dorado.

So here's a post that someone who identifies themselves as Mr. Dorado says on a previous blog item I wrote:

"What???? Did I step on your toes when you said no one in the party new me and I blasted your self made pitiful image? Or was it when Paul said he wanted some new DJ talent? Your a kid who is a total cangrejo/pendejo...Take a good look at the Precinct I am working. You think I have an easy coast on somebody's coat tail? You think that the Republicans who dominate in most of the area I want to serve will vote for me because they got hit by a Democratic lightning bolt? I paid for my advertising. You didn't. Your not even a member of dues paying unity 2010. If you think running for office is free and fun, try it sometime. You might find that you can't drop everything to walk every street and make your plea for the vote. I should have paid you to be my campaign worker to walk and talk. Maybe it would do your fat body some good. Come by my office and lets discuss your dislike for me. I can certainly do without your vote pal."

If this is in fact Mr. Dorado, it demonstrates the kind of temperment he has. Is this the kind of guy you want wearing the robe and holding the gavel?

You decide.
